Cancellation policy

Geriatro allows facilities to choose between 3 standardised cancellation conditions (flexible, medium, strict). The facilities make all final decisions. Geriatro cannot intervene under any circumstances, but always wants to help look for alternatives.

Flexible: cancellations never incur costs

Medium: cancellations may entail an administrative cost or possible withholding of all or part of the deposit.

Strict: an administrative cost, (part of) the deposit or the cost of a number of days will be charged

Final handling is done by the facility:

Serious reasons (hospitalisation or death) are always respected.

A deposit was not requested or is refunded if requested.

If there is a particular complaint about the facility or the applicant, this must be indicated to Geriatro at least 3 days before check-in if Geriatro has to look for alternatives as a mediator.

Geriatro never intervenes financially, but helps search for alternatives if necessary.

A reservation is definitively cancelled when an applicant completes the cancellation process. These steps can be completed via Stay > Cancel

When abuse is suspected (e.g. speculative requests), a facility can check with Geriatro how many reservation requests an applicant has cancelled in the past 12 months.
