The online marketplace for short-stay accommodation named Gloria.care is operated by Robert Winters and is owned by the company Geriatro, located at Vennestraat 2, 3600 Genk.

This privacy notice informs you about the personal data that Gloria.care collects in the course of providing services to all interested parties, how this personal data is used, and the rights you have. The privacy notice applies to all users of the online platform and all visitors to Gloria.care. Gloria.care only collects personal data that is explicitly and voluntarily shared on the platform by care professionals, informal carers or potential residents to support the provision of services around short-term stays in care facilities. In addition to some basic personal data such as name, date of birth, gender and contact details, we offer the option to add attachments in applications deemed relevant by applicants for care facilities to determine whether or not an application can be accepted.

In addition to content data around applications, Gloria.care uses various applications and techniques to track who visits the online platform and how visitors behave. The information we register, via cookies, includes IP addresses, browser type and pages visited. We also monitor the location where visitors first visit the website and from which page they leave. This information is stored anonymously and is not linked to other personal data.

Applications from external services are installed to enhance the user experience of Gloria.care and the economic activities of the online marketplace. A non-exhaustive list of such services is:

Social media pixels such as the Facebook pixel provide customised ads to some Gloria.care users

Matomo Analytics provides privacy-friendly processing and storage of application usage

Crisp provides chat and support between users and administrators of the platform

Google & Facebook identification systems to make login easy.

Google maps provides the display of facilities on a map


Gloria.care hereby reserves the right to rely on other external services for a better user experience without including them in the above list.

Children may only use Gloria.care's services together with their parents or guardians. If you are a minor (under 18 years of age), we ask that you do not transfer any personal data to Gloria.care.



Gloria.care processes your personal data for the following purposes:

Informing you about changes to our services and products

To offer you the opportunity to create an account

To deliver goods and services to you

To support services around offering and recording stays in care facilities

Improve communication around availability, room supply and prices of care facilities towards care professionals, informal carers and potential residents with a care need

Setting up an additional communication channel for care facilities with the aim of supporting their economic activities




Attachments added to applications without description but with possible personal or medical content are essential information and are only processed for communication between applicant and recipient of a care facility. All data are processed with utmost care and sent via end-to-end encrypted SSL connections. Administrators of the Gloria.care platform reserve the right at all times to conduct a screening of communications between the parties if abuse is suspected, but will never evaluate attachments with potentially sensitive content for this purpose.



Gloria.care does not make decisions based on automated processing on matters that could (significantly) affect individuals. These are decisions made by computer programmes or systems, without a human being (e.g. an employee of Geriatro) being involved.



Gloria.care stores your personal data no longer than strictly necessary to realise the purposes for which your data are collected. We apply a retention period of 3 years for all data around requests and bookings in care facilities.

Personal data is only processed for the purposes described above. Gloria.care does not retain the added personal data longer than necessary for the processing of stated purposes, unless such data is necessary to comply with a legal retention obligation.



Gloria.care shares your personal data with various third parties if this is necessary for the performance of the agreement and to comply with any legal obligation. With companies that process your data on our behalf, we enter into a processing agreement to ensure the same level of security and confidentiality of your data. Gloria.care remains responsible for this processing.

In addition, Gloria.care provides your personal data to other third parties. We only do so with your explicit consent and if you actively choose to use these third-party services.

Users who choose to do SMS verification allow Twilio to perform this verification for them regarding Gloria.care.
Users who choose to use Gloria.care with their Facebook account, allow Facebook to verify their account details via Gloria.care
Users who choose to use Gloria.care with their Google account allow Google to verify their account details via Gloria.care.
Users who conduct a search and wish to access geographical data on a map for this purpose will have it appear through Google Maps services.



Gloria.care may need to transfer your data to a server abroad or to third parties (within Europe only) that we rely on to process your data. This is necessary to perform the agreement between Gloria.care and yourself. Naturally, this is done in accordance with what is included in these privacy statements and the applicable laws and regulations.



Gloria.care uses functional, analytical and tracking cookies. A cookie is a small text file that is stored in the browser of your computer, tablet or smartphone the first time you visit this website. Gloria.care uses cookies with a purely technical functionality. These ensure that the website works properly and that, for instance, your preferences are remembered. These cookies are also used to make the website work properly and to optimise it. In addition, we place cookies that track your browsing behaviour so that we can offer tailored content and advertisements. On your first visit to our website, we have already informed you about these cookies and asked your permission to place them. To ensure that the request for inspection is made by you, we ask you to send a copy of your proof of identity with the request. In this copy, black out your passport photo, MRZ (machine readable zone, the strip of numbers at the bottom of the passport), passport number and Citizen Service Number (BSN). This is to protect your privacy. We will respond to your request as soon as possible, but within four weeks. Gloria.care would also like to inform you that you have the opportunity to file a complaint with the national regulator, the Personal Data Authority



Gloria.care handles the processing of your personal data with the utmost care and takes appropriate measures to secure the data against misuse, loss, unauthorised access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorised modification. These measures are in line with the applicable legal requirements and guidelines, and consist for example of using an SSL connection for all personal data and encrypting passwords in our database so that only users can access their own user accounts.
